We have great news to share with our patrons! We are thrilled to announce that we are going ahead with a mini three play season. Our shows: “Outside Mullingar”, written by John Patrick Shanley; “Opening Night”, written by Norm Foster; and “The Savannah Sipping Society”, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, will host full audiences.
Coming up February 1-12, 2022, is “Outside Mullingar” directed by Alain Chamsi. “Outside Mullingar” explores the romance of Anthony and Rosemary, neighbors in rural Ireland, who are nearing their middle years. It is by turns poetic, uplifting, dark and funny as hell.
Next, Brian McManus will direct Norm Foster’s “Opening Night”. The madcap antics start as Jack and Ruth Tisdale celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary with an evening at the theatre. It’s a dream come true for Ruth and an imposition for Jack who would rather be at home watching the World Series. However, after the events both on and off the stage that fateful night, their lives and those of all of those involved are irreparably altered. “Opening Night” runs from March 22 to April 2, 2022.
And finally, join us for “The Savannah Sipping Society”, directed by Michael Gareau. In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by Fate—and an impromptu happy hour—and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years. “The Savannah Sipping Society” runs from May 10-21, 2022.
The price for an individual ticket will be $25, or you could treat yourself to a subscription to all three shows for $60. The mini season is not available for purchase yet; however, keep checking the website for purchase options.
In the meantime, we have our holiday show, “Tarzan the Musical”, set to open December 8-12 & 15-19, and tickets are available online. Tarzan will also have a full audience capacity. The cost of our holiday musical is $15 a ticket.
We look forward to hosting you again at the Ron Maslin Playhouse. More details on a three-play subscription will be released soon. We will continue following health guidelines and adjusting our plans as required. Keep checking the website for news on pricing and ticket sales.
