(April 4, 2023 – by Anna Seguin) – In March of 2020, just one and a half weeks before opening night for Quartet directed by Barbara Kobolak was set to open, the world forced the closure of all live theatre events for the foreseeable future. Now, three years later, Quartet is back at the playhouse and getting ready for audiences!

Quartet is the story of Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred in a home for retired opera singers. Each year, on the 10th of October, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva and refuses to sing; however, the show must go on. Enjoy this funny and poignant tale of a “fab four” who have come together, in their retirement years, in search of a little harmony.

Most of the original cast and production team from the 2020 version have returned to make this vibrant production. The whole team has worked tirelessly to bring this story to life and with just one month till opening, we are sure that audiences will be inspired by the tale of friendship and hope.

Do you want to be a part of this magic? Contact Tom Kobolak (producer) to find out what jobs are still available! We always need people to help with the servery and front of house during the run of the show.

The play runs from May 9th-20th, 2023 at 7:30 pm with a matinee on Sunday, May 14th at 2:30 pm.
