Welcome to the 51st season of Kanata Theatre. We’re excited to present a wonderful season full of love, laughs, intrigue, and mystery sprinkled with a little bit of Peanuts fun.
Come along with us as this season takes us from the Eiffel Tower and L’Arc de Triomphe in 1930’s Paris in A Comedy of Tenors, through the Thames and cabinet war room of wartime London in Operation: Mincemeat.
Jump ahead and celebrate the holidays with the cartoon antics and classically lovable characters in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
Shake off the winter chill as we enter the extraordinary mind and story of Christopher and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Finally spring forward into the end of the 2020 season with a pair of raucously funny comedies in Quartet, and Opening Night.

Honk! Jr is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! Jr will treat the audience to equal amounts of laughter and tears.

This early Norm Foster presents familiar characters we come to love. In this sitcom we meet a couple of empty nesters, a couple of almost nesters and some aspiring and aging actors on opening night of a melodrama. As the story twists and turns we see their hopes and dreams, fears and failings play out. The evening is a wonderful romp that treats the audience to hilarious comedy and tender moments.
Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred reside in a home for retired opera singers in Kent, England. Each year, on the tenth of October, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva and refuses to sing. But the show must go on in this funny and poignant play.
15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.
Come join Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and Schroeder as they deal with the highs and lows of first-love, school, baseball and the search for happiness! Featuring delightful songs such as ‘My New Philosophy’, ‘The Kite’, and ‘Beethoven Day’, everyone’s favourite Peanuts characters come to life in this whimsical musical that is bound to be fun for the whole family!

With North Africa on the brink of being won back from Rommell, two clever chaps in British Naval Intelligence were given the task of inventing a deception that would make the Nazis believe the Allies’ next goal was to liberate Greece and Sardinia (and not the blindingly-obvious Sicily). This charming and smart production draws on both historical records and semi-fictional accounts, to weave a tense and dramatic tale.
