Barb joined the Kanata Theatre Writer's Circle to turn a love of writing into a new creative challenge.

"I have long loved writing, and I was excited to see that Kanata Theatre offered the opportunity to work through the writing process with a short script. It allowed me to take a chance on sharing and developing my work with other writers. I've learned so much through this process and look forward to continuing to be a part of it."

"A thoughtful voyage through absurdity."

"Seven different plays, directed by seven different directors and connected seamlessly through stage management, sound, lights, sets, and props, serve up a banquet of entertainment with something for everyone's taste."

❤️ Favourite aspect of community theatre?
"Opportunity. Community theatre gives people the chance to explore every aspect of theatrical production in a supportive environment where we learn from one another, encourage each other to take risks, and create something special together for our community."

Brian has been part of the Kanata Theatre Writer's Circle since it began in 2020.

"I have been part of the KT Writer's Circle since its inception in the fall of 2020, and I love the collaborative vibe of this creative workspace. Being able to develop and hone my craft of writing for the stage through such a supportive program has been a gift of indescribable dimension."

"The tide of change waits for no one!"

"You could always stay home and mow the lawn, but if it's something more stimulating you're after..."

Jenny found more than a place to write when she joined the Kanata Theatre Writer's Circle.

"The Kanata Theatre Writer's Circle process gave me so much: encouragement, support, knowledge, insight and, perhaps most significantly, the courage to try my best to write a play worthy of sharing with others. What I enjoyed most, to be honest, was the camaraderie we all shared. It felt like an adventure with friends."

Sonia joined the Writer's Circle to rediscover a part of herself.

"I wanted to challenge my creativity in a new way. As a journalist and corporate writer, I felt that I'd shifted away from the creative writing I loved so much as a kid."

"Absurdist, bank heist silliness!"

"You should only come to the 10-Minute Play Festival if you love to relax with friends, laugh, and be absolutely amazed by what a small group of creative, determined people can pull together in a short period of time. Otherwise, stay home." 😉

"Connecting with a super-supportive community of creatives, who challenge me to see my writing from new perspectives."

Sonia recently sprained her ankle chasing after her cat, Pickles. 🐈 Fortunately for Pickles, she's got an irresistibly cute face.
